Sean’s Week On Twitter #8

Sean’s Week On Twitter

Inspiration comes from many places, and in many forms.

Sometimes it’s something you see, or something you hear, but for me this week it’s been the written word.

There have been many contributors, naysayers, supporters and investigators.

Whatever their view they have left me with much to contemplate.

The Questions: Am I moving in the right direction? Which side should I back? Does it matter? What do I really believe in? Best of all, why am I doing this at all?

The Answers: As long as it is forward, my side is always the best, if it matters to me, it matters. I believe in helping others, and helping others is why I am doing this!

Pretentious? Maybe, but who cares? If you don’t care, you have probably stopped reading by now anyway.

Well that feels better!

So, for now I’ll leave you with 5 of my “Sean’s Week on Twitter” picks for you, SWOT #8, hopefully they’ll inspire you too. As always please add your own in the comments:

Can Google+ rival Facebook and Twitter? Some initial thoughts

Probably the biggest news of the week. Google takes on Social Media, it was going to happen, it was just a matter of when. Even if they haven’t got it right, I think they will adapt and fight for a piece of this consumer riddled pie. They have the revenue generation in place just waiting to take advantage of a market that this likely to exist far longer than the relevance of  search.

Marketing Lessons From Seth Godin

I admit it, I am a Seth Godin fan boy! I read Seth Godin as readily as Stephen King, in fact I find the two absolutely comparable. They both take the obvious facts of life and present them in a way that makes you think about your own purpose in life. If you have read neither author, and want to improve your blogging I recommend Poke the Box from Seth Godin and On Writing from Stephen King. If you have time for fiction The Stand is a must read.

+1 reporting in Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics

It only makes sense, if Google is getting all social on us with Google+, they’ll want a way for us to measure the results. Google Analytics now gets some social reporting. It’s quite limited, but I am sure there will be more to come.

A Day in the Life: Adil Aijaz, Principal Software Engineer

What’s life like working for a company that’s just IPO’d. An insiders look at what many of us, working online, dream of. I must admit, I am not sure there’s much chance of doing my one to one whilst out for a run!
